Paragon Point – Fort Collins, Colorado
The 75-acre Fossil Creek drainage divided the original 150-acre site, completely bare from prairie dog and cattle overgrazing. A 30- to 40-foot bluff on the east boundary provided ideal home sites with uninterrupted mountain views, and a small creek – ideal for creating small ponds – split the remaining land to the west. The Jim Sell Design team used this as the backbone of the development’s active recreation component, which includes a swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, a multi-use court, a large irrigated play area, passive parks, and enhanced natural areas for wildlife habitat. Our management plan provided a guide for transforming the previously abused natural area into a diverse wildlife sanctuary.
