Penny Flats – Fort Collins, Colorado

Adjacent to the city’s historic trolley barn, the 2.6-acre Penny Flats development is believed to be one of the largest mixed-use projects – 147 residential units and 30,000 square feet of commercial space – and the largest public/private partnership development ever planned near the heart of downtown Fort Collins. Jim Sell Design’s careful site engineering and landscape architecture had to allow for an enormous underground storm drain, nearby railroad tracks, existing utilities, residential and commercial developments, as well as pedestrian traffic linking neighboring city offices, courthouse, parks, and trails.
