Storm Drainage Concept – Greeley, Colorado

A large percentage of this site was impervious, posing a creative challenge: Reduce the need for an expensive irrigation system. Jim Sell Design’s storm-management solution directed water from buildings and pavement into the required landscape buffers through a series of surface swales and subsurface trenches and pipes. We used drought-resistant plants to take advantage of infrequent deep-water cycles from storms. As a result of our efforts, less water and irrigation infrastructure were necessary to satisfy the statutory requirements of the City of Greeley.
