Riverside Park – Evans, Colorado

Early in 2001, Jim Sell Design began working with the City of Evans' Parks and Recreation Department to provide inventory and needs assessment, site design, planning, construction documentation, and construction administration for the Riverside Park Improvements project. We revised the existing master plan and implementation of Phase I improvements, including a restroom/storage facility, picnic shelter, pedestrian plaza, skate walls, parking lots, and roadway. The park's proximity to the South Platte River required special design elements. The meandering river inspired curvilinear walks, walls, and even handrails.
